Four men have been taken to hospital following a stabbing incident on Bromley High Street in south-east London, with one of the victims reported to be in a critical condition.
Police were called to the busy high street at around 2.15pm on Thursday 10 September following reports of a serious disturbance.
Emergency services attended and found four men suffering from stab wounds. All four were taken to hospital for treatment.
Three of the men are understood to have injuries that are not considered life-threatening, while a fourth remains in a critical condition.
Seven men have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
According to reports from the scene, the incident took place in or around a KFC restaurant on the high street. Witnesses described people fleeing the premises as the disturbance unfolded.
A large police cordon was put in place and forensic officers were seen working in the area. London's Air Ambulance was also among the emergency services responding to the incident.
The stabbing caused significant disruption in Bromley town centre, with part of the high street closed and a number of bus services affected.
Police have said they do not currently believe there is a wider threat to the public, although the investigation remains ongoing and officers are working to establish exactly what led to the violence.
Bromley and Biggin Hill MP Peter Fortune said he understood the concern the incident would cause locally and said he would remain in contact with police as further information emerged.
With seven people already under arrest, investigators will now be looking closely at CCTV, witness accounts and other evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine whether those involved were known to one another.
At this stage, police have not publicly confirmed a motive for the incident and the identities of those involved have not been released.
More information is likely to emerge as those arrested are questioned and detectives continue their enquiries.
