- Facts vs speculation — Clearly distinguish between confirmed information, rumours, theories and your own opinions. Don't present speculation as fact.
- Don't accuse private individuals — Never identify or accuse someone of committing a crime without reliable public information to support the discussion.
- Ongoing cases and trials — Take extra care when discussing active investigations and court proceedings. Don't post anything that could interfere with a fair trial or breach reporting restrictions.
- Protect privacy — Don't post private addresses, phone numbers, personal social-media information or other private details.
- Graphic content — Don't post extremely graphic or disturbing material. Use a clear warning when discussing sensitive details.
- Use reliable sources — When sharing news or making factual claims about a case, provide a reputable source whenever possible.
- No hate or discrimination — Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and other discriminatory abuse aren't welcome.
- Keep it enjoyable — No spam, excessive self-promotion or deliberately disrupting discussions. If there's a problem, report it to the staff rather than arguing publicly.
